These blue volets (shutters) caught my eye. In fact this blue is more often seen further along the coast in St. Tropez. Typical Menton colour is a pale turquoise or eau de nil. In the photo below you can see where I found this window.
What is it about crumbling walls and peeling paint that attracts us so much? Especially if the walls are in France and the color is indigo ;-) Oh, yeah, we don't have many of them here ;-)
Reminds me that we are getting to the time of hot days and cool shuttered stone interiors. There is something I like about the temperature management process in places where we don't rely on airconditioning. Almost a way of life
ohh this is a very cute corner:)

It's amazing how uplifting a little splash of bright color can be.
ReplyDeleteI love this mediterranean blue - it always reminds me of greek islands.
ReplyDeleteOf course as you know we have same in Italy along Liguria coasts. Typical colour here is green.
ReplyDeleteUseless to say I love this photo.
Gorgeous color for the shutters...and beautiful photos, esp. the first one!

ReplyDeleteLove th colors on the windows. Yes, the violet is the most beautiful but I like the yellow and light blue windows too.
ReplyDeleteThat deep vibrant blue is so arresting; it tends to stop you in your tracks. Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteI love the stucco, too, the roughness and the nuances of color...
