We've moved from Menton Old Town today to Gorbio village (my village) - which is about 7 or so kilometres from Menton. Here we are just inside the archway that is the entrance to the
vieux village. On the right are metal panels displaying each candidate from last Sunday's election for President. You might notice a space between the first two panels and the rest - that's to allow the homeowner to enter his house! That's how it is in a medieval village.
One of the benefits of having narrow passages like this one - no tourist buses ;-)

Still as equally impressive and quaint as Menton! Thanks for visiting Toruń DP! Any luck on recruiting Menton youth for the Footstep 11 International Youth Conference?
ReplyDeleteVery nice photography, Jilly. I like this old street too. How many feet have walked on those stones?
ReplyDeleteIt poured rain yesterday and I took some photos through the windshield experimenting.

I love to cobbled stone streets and the archway into the old village. It reminds me of a lot of places in South of France I've seen.
ReplyDeleteWhat an historical view!
ReplyDeleteI love narrow streets like this:)
ReplyDeleteOhh, Jilly, I have to visit this place...
ReplyDeleteVery, very interesting.
