We're across the bridge now. There's a small restaurant here - run by two young women. One cooks and one serves. We decided not to sit under the umbrellas, choosing instead to take a table inside the archways, out of the sun where we had omelettes and salad and good crusty bread.
looks very serene. you got to me at "good crusty bread" though...I want to go back to Menton!
ReplyDeletemaybe for the fest du citron one year...
I love coming by here every day to see your newest picture of your life in a most exotic place! And your job of loving dogs is too perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I enjoyed our light lunch ;-)
ReplyDeleteHow hot does it get in the middle of the day, Jilly? And I don't see many tourists - is that normal?
I know these villages (from Torino to Mentone, Sospel it's the more short way even if, for sure, not the fastest) and I can say how *each* your photo shows things as none should be able. Maybe pastel, pale colours, maybe the good angle and the good eye but definitely Jilly, each your photo it's a paint.
ReplyDeleteThis is very interesting village to visit, I really like the pictures too.
ReplyDeletelooks like a fun time
ReplyDeleteThanks for introducing me to Sospel Jilly. I was looking forward to seeing what was beyond that bridge.
ReplyDeleteIs Sospel usually this empty of people?
I really don't know how hot it was that day but it was lunchtime and that little 'place' being enclosed, presumably held the heat - hence our sitting in the coolth. Yes, not many people about. It's a great walking area but of course we are not in the height of the season yet. I did see a few tourists later as we explored further but not many. It's an area that will get busy in summer but not busy like Menton. Also lots of people who live in Monaco have holiday homes here to get away from the crowds and the tourists.
ReplyDeleteI love the faded colors of the wall and the windows. It does have a certain charm to it.
ReplyDeleteIs that a fountain under the arch?
