Still on the discussion of public versus private beaches, here you see, in the foreground, a small part of a crowded public beach. In the background, you can see the coloured sunshades of the various private beaches, one of which you saw yesterday - and another the day before. You can see another view of this public beach here.
I really like the houses, stacked up on the hill, their colors and the church and the few trees there are nice. The public beech, in contrast, while colorful, is disappointing. I see men who look hopelessly out of shape, and I see at least three ladies who would look so much better if in long dresses. I guess this sight is one reason I don't go to beaches except in full dress, including shoes. I don't want anybody to mistake me for a sunbather. All in good fun, of course, your photograph is wonderful and the scene you see in it is very nice. Your explanation is good to read and the difference between the public and private beaches is obvious.

I like the view of the houses in the background. As for the public beach, not so sure I'd like it. It seems too crowded.

Well, I can tell you are not having the same problem as the northern and western beaches of France right now. Because of the miserable (cold and rainy) weather, their beaches are almost empty...
ReplyDeleteI love the view of the beach activity in your photo but would much prefer a less hectic place for relaxing. Look at that...no not the Speedo guy...that glorious water. :-) That is artistic beauty.

ReplyDeleteI was on a beach like this in Cannes, and I had to leave, it was even more crowded-- I heard one man say to his friend "eet ees nutt to butt here today, no?" that made me laugh--I left and sought out some Pastis and Calm.
