Beauty

Turn the corner from the Place aux Herbes, look up, and this is what you see. So much of the Old Town is gaspingly beautiful. At least it is to me. Here, the juxtaposition of the lamp, those colours, the shutters, the climbing plant and the sign - it all works, doesn't it?

  1. It is new but old, colorful but plain and nice to see. Things so nice look so nice to those who never walk the streets and see the sights you see and photograph.

  4. What really I like from Old Town is iron work in those hanging signs. You don't see that anymore. It just so classic in my eyes.

  5. Beautiful coloured and graphic catch

It is often enough to raise the eyes.

But there are only truths photographers which do it

  6. Thank you for visiting my blog today. Also to answer your question, the Mourning Dove has a mournful coo sound that is, I suppose the reason it has the name. Once you hear it you never could forget it.

  7. I come to your site for daily inspiration. Today's entry was especially uplifting as I imagined my wife and I, hand in hand, walking under this sign and up the street to have a coffee and a pastry--or perhaps a late afternoon glass of Chardonnay. Sigh.

  11. Oh yes it works. Very nice jilly.

I love the colours of Menton's Old Town and the architecture...the shuttered windows. It truly is a lovely Town.

Look how neatly they have put the wires for the lamp under the arch.
