Magie
Magic! It seems to be everywhere at the moment. Here's a stall in the night market doing a roaring trade. Eat in a restaurant and you'll have magicians around your table doing tricks and enthralling you. When I went to a dog show in the Vosges earlier this year, the cabaret was a magician. Is 'magic' popular in your city? or is this a French phenomenon? Maybe everyone wants to be Harry Potter?
I love when the magician comes to the table..but it's not so frequent. Reminds me of my Dad who loved to do magic....he had a load of stuff....magical, in fact.
ReplyDeleteMagic shows are not really that popular here, except maybe in Las Vegas. But then again, those are Vegas style magic shows, ie. glizty, glamorous, fireworks, smokes, etc.
ReplyDeleteMing's right. Your photo reminds me of the last time I was in Las Vegas. Numerous booths in various places were marketing magic items to mainly tourists. BTW the magicians were in their full glory. It was fun to watch and be amazed or "illusioned" as it were. Poof! I'm gone!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure how much everyone around here is in to magic or Harry Potter..I know I liked the books...but I work in a library so......go figure!
ReplyDeleteNot exactly popular here fortunately. I said "fortunately" because Torino being one of three point of magician triangle (with Lyon and Prague) and in another one bigger with San Francisco and I don't remember who else, I get frustrated when someone says "Ah Torino the magician city".
ReplyDeleteNo the first capital of Italy, no where Fiat was born, no where cinema, philosophers, medicians, and writers was born, no. The magician city. Well I can sure that in the city we don't "breath" any magician air :-)
