Memories in the making
Fishing below the Old Town. A few minutes after I took this photograph, the little girl caught a fish. I think a lot of us have happy memories of fishing as a child. Do you?

Over here, children have a hard time hooking the worms used in fishing, on the barbed hooks. Parents have to do it for them and also take the fish off. Then there comes a day when the parents tell the child they have to do it themselves. I guess I remember that more than anything else. Nice photo.
ReplyDeleteI like this photo a lot! A dramatic backdrop to the simplicity (as I see it -- I've never been fishing!) of the little girl fishing. And the sunshine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot....the town is very beautiful on the hill.
ReplyDeleteGood for her! (I love her yoga pose, too ;-))
ReplyDeleteWhat a great panorama of the Old Town!
Gorgeous photo! You have the beauty of the French Riviera in the background and a young girl enjoying an afternoon fishing.
ReplyDeleteSince I grew up in the city and was a nerd throughout my young life, I never really ever fished before. My parents weren't big on doing things outside the house. :-)
Any more beautiful and it wouldn't be real! That little girl will grow up to be a drop dead gorgeous woman.
ReplyDeleteYou were lucky with this picture. A cyclist was nearing by from the left side ;-)
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I love your picture... Et j'adore Menton!
Greetings from Belgium
An extraordinary photograph, you paid the model with candies; -)
ReplyDeleteI suppose that the girl lives in the building of girls, that which is pink in the center of the city!!
It's taken me a while to get here -- haven't had much free time lately. I always enjoy seeing your part of the world.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to my blog, too.

Great photo. The city in the background makes a fantastic addition to the story of the child catching the fish!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog. As for the Chief Commanda cruises, they are only 3hour day cruises mostly. No overnight accomodation available.
Very very good photo ... I have fond memories of fishing in my childhood but none as memorable as this.
ReplyDeleteI decided to go back in time to see what you posted last year September and stumbled upon this one again. I still think this is my all time favourite of all your photos.
