Rain!
Rain! Apart from two days of rain about three weeks ago, this is the first since March or April. How we need it! And how grey and oppressive the village looks in the rain - not that Gorbio has the soft pinks and apricots and terracottas of Menton but there's a gloom to it in the rain, isn't there? I still love it tho!
It's still beautifull. If it's not too cold and windy...
ReplyDeleteI think the town looks wonderful. It would be great to visit there some day.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful sort of gloom.
ReplyDeleteJust look at all the beautiful reflections glooming off the marble pavement.
Rain is often most welcome.
I still think it's beautiful instead of gloomy.
ReplyDeleteI could send some of our rain to you if you wish ;-) We've had rain pretty much everyday since August.
And by the way...I looooooooove the new look in the header. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe town does seem to be "on pause", waiting out the dreary days till it can shine and sing in the sun again.
ReplyDeleteGloomy, yes, but very beautiful. The pastel colors on the shutters and garage door give this scene a lovely feeling. I like it a lot (love those scooters!)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
ReplyDeleteSo refreshing! I imagine the earth feeling relief after so many days of sun. As you know we are in much need of rain too - thanks for thinking of us in San Diego.
ReplyDeleteStill a nice photo though. The sun just brings out all the colours.
ReplyDeleteYou and me, Jilly!
ReplyDeleteThe rain is such a welcome relief after the habitual Provence and Florida sunshine...
But I guess, we should not complain ;-)
Jilly, it looks beautiful and the rain is refreshing. No people though, they must be taking shelter. Just you and your camera and no doubt a couple of dogs.
ReplyDeleteRain does tend to mute the colors. And the clouds mellow out the bright spots.
