Rooms with a view

Here's a villa on the hillside above the Old Town. This photo was taken from the cemetery. I love the setting, the terraced garden, with the hills behind and with what must be a wondrous view of the coastline. Whether it's good feng shui to look down on a cemetery - ah, there's the rub.

Would it bother you to look down over a cemetery?

  1. I suppose to the dead it is some comfort to know you are being looked down upon by the well to do.

    What a beautiful setting.

No power lines. No large Motel Vacancy signage. No poles or television antennas.

On the other hand, Global Warming, will turn all that greenery into dry tinder and I'd lay odds the place would burn to the ground.

You might be able to get it cheap then.

  3. It is a lovely view! From what I can gather from previous comments on multiple bloggers' post, many people find cemeteries to be places of great calm and even favorite places to visit. I've never been afraid of cemeteries and love walking in them, large or small. So, I would not mind living near them.

  4. A proximite de un cimetiere est un plus toujours, surtout si l'a les statues. La terrasse jardin est tres jolie.

  5. Lovely villa! No, it wouldn't bother me to look down over a cemetery, not at all in a setting like that. But I've seen cemetery "views" from condos that were extremely depressing.

Have a lovely weekend in gorgeous Menton :).

  7. If that's the price I have to pay for this location and this view - so be it...
Cemeteries never scared me, until I saw "The night of the living dead" ;-)

  9. Battening down for the Autumn storms here, we need the sun and villa scene from Menton, cemetery or not.
