Rue Longue - 2

Rue Longue is the street that runs the length of the Old Town. From this street rise all the little ruelles that make up this beautiful part of Menton. At the moment, Rue Longue is undergoing renovations. Residents have to walk on planks and sheets of wood to get around. I don't imagine anyone lives in this house or at least the door looks as if it's not been used for a long time. You can see another view of Rue Longue by clicking on the link.

  1. I am afraid nothing in this photograph would pass our local zoning inspector. The wiring is a no-no as is the pit with planks people could fall into and sue the city for millions.

Still, it does make an excellent photograph of what was or is.

    Nice shot...

  2. This photo has strong appeal since one can use one's imagination re. its history and the future of the building.

  5. That's such a fine photo. It almost looks like a painting. Beautiful. Those earth shades are very appealing.

  7. I like both of your Rue Longue photos very much. For some reason, I am drawn to the later one, the old unused door. Perhaps it is the mystery of a long unopened door, and the treasures and wisdoms and snippets of life that may have been left behind it...
    Thanks,
    Wayne
