This group were charming - and their music. I wish I knew their name or even where they are from but I don't. Plaintive music accompanied the man rolling around on the ground but I don't know what it all meant. Wouldn't want his laundry bill.
If anyone knows of this group, do let me know.

I'm sorry Jilly I've never heard of them. I hope someone can help with the name.
ReplyDeleteLove your humour about the laundry bill!!!!
Maybe they are the sorbet.
ReplyDeleteI bet the story behind this group is as fascinating as their garb and behavior. Hope someone can solve the puzzle.
ReplyDeleteI Googled "group in white" and you are the top hit on the page out of 180,000 hits. It appears you are the expert on a "group in white".
ReplyDeleteWe had the blue men perform here last week. Sadly I did not get to go see them however I understand it is an outstanding performance.
this looks like so much fun! i just love festivals and such.
ReplyDeletere: your comments about snow. . .as you could probably tell from my blog, i do NOT like the stuff at all. seeing if from afar is good enough for me! ;-)
And yet his costume isn't soiled. Isn't that amazing? (I get a lot of comments on "how clean Boston is" - looks like Menton is a very clean city, as well.)
ReplyDeleteRe: Calé people, here's some info (the Gipsy Kings are Calé, btw - their parents fled from Spain during the Spanish Civil War).
The first picture...there's something happening here...what it is ain't exactly clear...
ReplyDeletethese are great pics--I love the makeup! the eyes!
Are those chaps the "sorbet"?
ReplyDeleteSuch fun photos, Jilly....you are lucky to live there. :) The white does seem a bit impractical, doesn't it? Menton must be very clean.

ReplyDeleteFantastic, I love these photos. These guys are obviously enjoying life!
ReplyDeleteI am fascinated! Jilly, I hope you can find out about them and tell us!
