So you'd like to own a boat?
As you can see, owning a boat isn't all lazing about, sipping champagne and cultivating a tan. This couple spent Easter Saturday working on their boat in the old port of Menton.
I wouldn't be taking the photo today - we've had rain for two or three days and Gorbio is in thick fog. Sunshine tomorrow - according to the meteo. Hooray!

One of my friends owns a boat in NYC and he said it costs a lot to keep it docked at the marina.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I'm not much of a boat person. I guess I won't mind a nice lobster brunch on a boat but that's about all I want. :-)
I rather had both my feed on solid ground.
Yes it is not easy to own a boat. Quit alot of hard work. We used to have a small motor cruiser moored on the River Avon in England. But we had to sell it as it was proving too costly (marina fees, river licence, etc).
ReplyDeleteSorry for not visiting so recently. But have been VERY busy here in Toruń!
So much hard work... must be very tiring sometimes!
DELETE THE DUMURO, IT'S A VIRUS, DO NOT OPEN!
ReplyDeleteRain! You have rain. I would like at boat and sail straight to the Riviera.Lovely photo.
Yes, delete the top see here posts. They are viruses.
ReplyDeleteNice shot.
Abraham Lincoln in Brookville, Ohio.
You're absolutely right! And plastic boats aks less work than wooden ones...
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot of work and it's also a lot of pleasure. It's worth working.
ReplyDeleteIf someone took care of it ... ops, if I owned a boat of course that I would have someone to take care of it!
ReplyDeleteLots of work, that's right. And expensive, too. That's why we just rent a boat a few times during the season, let someone else worry about maintenance and expenses. ;)
ReplyDeleteAll hands below deck, is it? Nice to see a woman involved. This keel design is no big secret either. Outstanding path in the prior post.
ReplyDeleteI think it is better to have friends with boats so you can visit;)
ReplyDeleteOwning a boat, for the average person, is like owning a horse, you have to like the work that goes with it. This is a great shot, by the way!
ReplyDeleteYes, we have a few friends with boats, and they say the same thing. Nice photo!
ReplyDeleteNice boat but yes loads of work for the enjoyment!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great weekend!!
But, I think the pleasure of the boat is well worth the effort. The woman doesn't look too unhappy about working on it, does she?
ReplyDeleteI know all about it, but I think the effort is worth it - I get lots of enjoyment from my boat.
ReplyDeleteMost things worth having, I believe, take a lot of work and money to maintain.
ReplyDeleteBut then again... think of the enjoyment that comes after all the hard work!
