Brocante - The Thankyou

Jetée Impératrice Eugénie

The Brocante took place on the 1st May, the day Lily of the Valley is given for good luck. Read more HERE. This young man is receiving a kiss of thanks for the flower he's just given the girl.

You can see another photo of this lovely and rather wet Bearded Collie, Bianca on Riviera Dogs.

  1. Wonderful photo! The people are oblivious, but the dog is smiling just for you. One of the few things I miss about television is seeing the various dog shows. Your blogs help fill the gap.

  2. What a lovely tradition. How many lilies did you receive, Jilly?

The dog must be embarrassed that people associate him/her with public displays of affection. And such a beautiful dog.

  4. This is just perfect, Jilly; and soooo French, to boot.

I think the dog was scanning for a mate to kiss, en même temps.

  5. It was nice to have the location printed above the photo, too.

The "Impératrice Eugénie", was the wife of Napoleon III, who had been previously refused the hand in marriage of Adelaide von Hohenlohe-Langenburg, niece of Queen Victoria.

  6. My oh my, is there anything that M.B doesn't know?

I love the photo Jilly, especially in B/W.
It's Mother's Day here and M.B gave me lovely yellow tulips. I feel rather spoilt!
Do you have children BTW, Jilly?

Great shot - I love the straining leash! The big diagonal motif also works really well

Candid without being sloppy, I - like everyone else - find this photo gorgeous. Timeless in every sense of the word.
