This beautiful rose is on a bend a couple of kilometres below the village of Gorbio, en route from Menton. The sign says:
'Friends of Flowers. Don't pull on my branches - you will injure me. Thankyou. signed...the Rose.'
'Friends of Flowers. Don't pull on my branches - you will injure me. Thankyou. signed...the Rose.'
It is a beautiful rose. I love the shape and the colour. I wonder if it has perfume.
ReplyDeletethe way the note is written tells me that the owner is a deeply kind person. thanks for sharing this.

Pardon Monsieur Ronsard
" Mignonne, allons voir si la rose
Qui ce matin avait éclose
Sa robe de pourpre au soleil,
N'a point perdu cette vesprée
Le ton de sa robe pourprée
Et son teint au vostre pareil..."
That's correct,isn't it?
It is a beautiful rose bush Jilly. So sad that people are not able to just walk by, admire its beauty and keep walking without trying to pick a rose or cut the branches.
ReplyDeleteA very good sign! But the rose loses its petals eventually.
