Trompe l'oeil

This is the same house we saw two days ago. You can just see the old boy's balcony on the front of the house - behind the tree - above the lamp.

Note the four windows - how many are real?!

Internet & phone still down. Thanks so much for comments. My ability to comment is limited but am using neighbour's WiFi when poss. Will catch up with everyone eventually.

That took me a while to locate it. Nice shot. Glad to see the old boy has a home.

  5. Hi, I believe that only one of these windows are real, extremely good trompe l'oeil. I love it.

  9. It looks like only one window is real? Such an interesting thing to paint the windows onto the house. Fascinating!

  10. I love trompe l'oeils. I count only the upper right window as being real.

  11. Those are painted on? Maybe the upper right is the only real one?

  12. The top right is the only one that it could be. This is a marvellous example of the genre. You are doing a trerling job with limited internet usuage.

  13. One - top right. Very clever! How observant of you Jilly. I love the stonework in those old houses. It's something we don't see so much of in a young country like ours.

Two years ago, we were sitting with a cofee at the restaurant just infront of these 4 windows ( the resto that has the huge big wild boar head). I suddenly saw that 3 of those were fake.

Was easy for me, because in Menton many fake pictures are done. But in Menton it took me 2 trips ( 2 years)before I realize them. :-))

There is some near the Bar du Cap, and others spread over Menton.

Maybe we will discover more next June, as usual.
