The sandwich he is eating is like those my wife buys and heats in the microwave for me. At least it looks like these we get. And I might add that they are delicious.
Thanks for the generous comment on my blog this morning about my daughter's photograph.
What beautiful eyes this child has Jilly. He also has that far away dreamy look in them which can only come from delighted taste buds! I notice that he also bites his fingernails. Terrific photo Jilly.
jilly ..in some minutes i am leaving and wont be here i loved to look in your blogs . i am an owner of a labradoodle . well lets talk more about us when i return from camping from the sea shore ... may be its going to nice with us .. love foto-sh ( andrea )
Jilly - I was looking to see if you mentioned Socca anywhere, but I can't find it. As well as pizza, is there anyone selling socca in Menton that you can recommend? Thanks! Lynne
Thanks Jilly, I shall look for it. I think I remember seeing someone selling socca in the market in Ventimilgia beginning of May, but we won't be going there this year (and certainly never again on the Friday across the "pont"! My god the crowds on the train !.
I meant to try it, but thought it might taste different on the Italian side to the French side. Although there were more French than Italians in Ventimiglia, and more Italians than French in Menton that weekend! Go Figure as they say over the pond.... Lynne
You may well be right - the end of April was probably the very end of when it was being made. Never mind, we are only over for the weekend, Thursday to Monday so I'll miss it anyway!
Maybe next Spring...
Or perhaps I will have to learn to make it myself.
Mmm… yummy. Now I'm hungry.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, la pizza provencale...
ReplyDeleteBelle photo.
If I hadn't just had dinner I might be tempted to lick the screen!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad your computer woes are fixed - my problem is more with the "technician" trying to fix my computer, me thinks!!!!

It's not so much the pizza that I find stunning but the quality of this portrait. All right maybe it's just the camera, but I don't think so!

ReplyDeleteTerrific photo Jilly.
I hope I look as presentable when I'm tucking a slice of pizza in my mouth but I doubt it. :-)

ReplyDeleteLynne, You can get socca in the little market in Carnoles.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jilly, I shall look for it. I think I remember seeing someone selling socca in the market in Ventimilgia beginning of May, but we won't be going there this year (and certainly never again on the Friday across the "pont"! My god the crowds on the train !.

Sorry to bother you again Jilly, is that market only on certain days or every morning like the main one in Menton?
ReplyDeleteThe Carnoles market is on Wednesday's - so hopefully they'll have socca for you. Maybe more of a winter thing??? I could be wrong tho.

There's an article about food in today's Nice-Matin. It's called Chez 'Ou Pastre' Pichade, rue Saint Michel, I believe. Sells socca.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that sounds like a nice little drop in for lunch...
ReplyDeletethanks Jilly!
