Summertime in Menton - the Boat Trip - 9

Time to go home. We wave goodbye to Carlo and Susan and my friend, Donald, who lives in Beaulieu.

Donald was one of the first people I met when, 17 years ago, I came to live in the south of France. He 'knows everyone' and everyone loves Donald. He gives great parties - and through Donald, you meet great people. But, most of all, he's a really good and valued friend to his friends - he works at friendship. Barely a week will go by without a call, 'Just calling to see how you are.' How lucky I am.

Nice to catch up again - thanks for your comments while I was away. Had a great time but too much wine and food - I put on a heap of weight - diet started yesterday....well maybe tomorrow!!!

Friends like Donald are not the dime-a-dozen variety. You are fortunate.

  4. The water is a deep and beautiful blue in your photo. Donald is indeed a treasure; reminds me of a Georgia O'Keeffe quote I like and I often use as part of my signature in some of my posts: “Nobody sees a flower really; it is so small. We haven't time, and to see takes time - like to have a friend takes time.”

I reckon all of your shots are the best; ever. However, this one is WAY up there.
