The Village Wedding - 28 - memories
The day after. Rose petals outside the church ... memories of a perfect day.
Thankyou so much to everyone who has followed this series and to those who have commented.
Postscript: about a week ago I received an email from Patricia and Walter, the bride and groom, saying how much they enjoyed the photographs and that they'd sent the blog link to friends and family. Lisa's father and the parents of Laura also wrote kind emails.
LONG LIFE AND HAPPINESS TO PATRICIA AND WALTER - your wonderful day has been enjoyed by many people around the world. And I will never forget it - a beautiful wedding, an unforgettable day.

A beautiful conclusion - and thank you for taking us there! Literally as well as photographically in my family's case :-)
ReplyDeleteI to have enjoyed be a "guest" at this sweet wedding. This photo is especially lovely. I like the rich wood door, the soft white bows, and the dainty pink petals against the cobblestones.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great picture, wonderful memories for everyone to share.
ReplyDeletesublime - I think it would make a most beautiful wedding card!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jilly. And thanks to Patricia and Walter for sharing! It's been a lovely series. Best wishes to P&W for a happy life together.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful series! It was just like being at the wedding! Many years of happiness to the bride and groom...
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice of the couple and their family to acknowledge your work Jilly and I concur; it's been a terrific tour of their wedding and this final shot epitomises the whole day - a fitting end to the celebrations. Just lovely, Jilly.
ReplyDeletelovely.
ReplyDeleteYou documented the event just fabulously. This last one really says it all. I love weddings ... and I really love your photographic style. Thank you to you and to the family, for sharing such a special day!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that they saw the blog and contacted you! Makes it that much more rewarding.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a great series, Jilly. The whole world has been focussed on Gorbio these last few weeks.
ReplyDeleteYou should win a tourism award.
I wonder what the old man thinks, now the place has gone quiet. And thanks to Patricia and Walter; may they have a happy new life together in Gorbio (?)
This series has been a real treat, Jilly. I want to visit Menton! But it's too far a trip from Cahors to make this fall, so maybe next trip.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this fascinating series. I sent pictures from it to a lot of my friends--especially one who is in the throes of planning two weddings. Your photos were just wonderful in giving us a window on such a lovely event in a French town.
ReplyDeleteA very nice series, Jilly! And this last photo is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, what a poignant end to the wedding. I'm all choked up, looking at this photo and thinking of their new life together and the one I had with my dear husband for the 10 years and four months that we had before he died, back in 1983. Thanks for the memories, Jilly.
