Fête de la Branda - the Baker


Real bread and a wonderful baker - he looks more like a college professor than a baker, doesn't he? His gentle smile never left his face.

  1. The bread reminds me of our West Virginia Mountain Bread called "Pan Bread" as it is baked in a skillet in the oven and is meant to last all day. Tear off what you want from a community loaf of pan bread. Butter in a bowl freshly churned from the cow out back.

  2. what a sweet and kind look on his face. i would buy bread from him, wish him a good day, head to a cheese shop, head to a wine shop, find a nice scenic place and enjoy.

  9. I've recently seen a painting by Monet, of Menton, from a distance, in an exhibition in Sydney. Some outstanding works were a treat and were mostly on loan from Boston.
