Pigeonholed
The end of a tiny alleyway. Nesting boxes for pigeons. You can see in the smaller photograph that someone has hung aluminium foil from the lamp - probably an attempt to deter the pigeons.
It didn't work...

Such a delightful photo. I love the texture, the age of the wall & ofcourse the visitor too. Maybe the foil stopped "deposits" being left at the bottom of the lamp.

ReplyDeleteIts better that they have somewhere to roost other than windowsills and doorways, then making a mess all over them.
ReplyDeleteOh very interesting to see the smart birds making use of the holes as their homes. Of course the house owner is not happy, they dont want unnecessary mess on them when they open the door.

ReplyDeleteLove the first photo. Yes, we have pigeon problems here too. Most buildings put up spiky surfaces so the birds can't roost on them.

Hmmm, I'm ambivalent about pigeons. They can cause problems, but then there's somethign irresistable about them. I think when they push native birds out that's the biggest habitat problem.
