The Donkey Track to Gorbio - Tumbledown
We continue our walk - a glance to our right and we see this small ruin - perhaps once a shepherd's dwelling.
In the smaller photo you can see we are looking down on the main road that runs from Menton to Gorbio - the tumbledown building on the other side.
It always astounds me that we are in the depths of the countryside here yet only 11 or so kilometres from the buzz of Monte Carlo.
je préfère la première photo, sans la route, cela donne l'impression d'une bergerie abandonnée. j'aime beaucoup
ReplyDeleteIt is a reminder, I guess, of the days of yesterday when some people lived there. I like the roof tiles and how they are falling off.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely walk. I'm doing the fast track (enjoying 4 posts in one day) :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have described this as a ruin. I bet a real estate agent could describe it in a much more attractive way in an ad or real estate listing. Perhaps it would sound something like this:
ReplyDelete"Unique, handyman's special. Wooded, corner lot. Stone walls, tile roof will blossom into a charming country cottage with a little tender loving care."
Marc may be doing the fast track but I'm poking along behind taking photos like I did in Paris. Peter and Karen were always about a half a block ahead of me the whole time!HA Love the tumbledown.
ReplyDeletej'achetais presque la ruine mais avec la route si prés, j'abandonne
ReplyDeleteGary and will take this and turn it into the artist/ photographer's retreat. I wish. One day, soon.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful location for a home!
