Silhouette with Oranges

Taken in Roquebrune village yesterday. Note the oranges on the trees in the foreground. It's 'that' time of year again in Menton - La Fête du Citron. Menton is choc-a-bloc with visitors for the festival, so it was a good moment to stroll through the peace of this medieval hill village.

  1. This is the time of the year when my grand-parents would send all sorts of goodies: orange and lemon peels covered in chocolates, candied fruits (in particular tangerines) and mimosa shaped candy.

  6. This is the rose parade of Menton coming up. I remember the way they used oranges last year that you photographed.

This is a nice photo and I would never have seen the orange has you not mentioned it.

  7. Ah, Roquebrune. I had dear friends who lived there. So wonderful to be reminded of them with such a gentle photograph.

  9. Beautiful shot. It's orange time in Arizona too but, we don't have the beautiful ocean views.

  13. Ho,humm. What do we see? Strictly contolled light and an accomplished management of the depth of field. Wavelets in the foreground fading away to a soft sea!

Isn't it nice the way the oranges are just "hinted at" by that little touch of colour as opposed to the balcked out tree!?
