Wind

The rain has gone, the sun is back and at the moment, it's windy - just the edges of the Mistral that comes down the Rhone valley but still it's blowing like crazy. I'm surprised this photo worked as I was being blown sideways and no way was the camera still - just shows how important a camera's 'image stabilizer' can be.

  3. Great capture! I'm just glad the wind's not strong enough to bend the trunk too.

  4. It's a great photo. I guess the weather all over our little planet has been discussed everywhere the last few weeks.

  5. Go quickly and take refuge into rue Saint Michel.
Amazing that the Mistral blows up to Menton !

  6. Amazing sense of the wind pulling the eye to the right. And if you enlarge the photo you can see precisely what time Jill was out taking this shot.

  10. Whew. Windy there too. It is also windy here and we are under a Tornado watch. It got too warm for this time of year.

  11. Beautifully caught, Jilly. It's still blowing here tonight and cold with it...still it's better than the rain.

  12. It is never easy to capture the feeling of the wind but you have done it brilliantly!

  13. That looks to be good gale force gusts, Jilly.
I was kinda hoping after our delightful climb up the trail to Gorbio, you might lead us on into the village for a thirst quencher at one of your favorite spots. :)

  14. Raf, that was the intention! Then I popped down to Menton and took the pics in the wind. We'll go back to Gorbio soon, I promise.

  15. Wicked, wicked winds! I've been reading the word "Mistral" a great deal recently and, of course, can figure it out, but I think I'm going to look on the web for some specifics since it is so important.

  16. Yes, the image stabilization technology is quite amazing.

I think about the same thing when I'm shivering outside in the cold and trying to take photos.
