Aloe! Aloe!

Plage des Sablettes and the aloes are in bloom. They line the edge of the beach and at this time of the year show us they are not just spikes and barbs.

Aloes are brilliant plants for our climate - there are many different varieties and like all succulents need little water. And some, like Aloe Vera, have medicinal uses.

  6. Showing my ignorance, but I didn't know that was what the aloe plant looked like. It almost looks like a desert plant.

  7. Tomorrow I plan to post a photo of a California cliff over looking the ocean. It has bright red plants in the foreground. I didn't know what they were, but they look very much like your aloe.

Thanks for the info and beautiful photo!
