I liked the smaller one because in the large one, I could only see the back of her head and no book but I clicked on it to make it bigger and yes, the bigger one tells more of a story. Beautiful photos, both.
I agree with Carraol - I like both photos, but the smaller one is much more intimate and it gives you this feeling that it's just the girl, her book and the water, which is the kind of experience I want when losing myself in a good book.
The larger one, to me anyway, brings in the background "noise" and is a little more distracting to me. But both are great :)
I wish I were here, ehh....
ReplyDeleteI do prefer the bigger one. That way, people see there's enough place to join her, without disturbing her tranquility.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I would like to do at that present time.
Have a sunny and pleasant week-end, Jilly.
The smaller one is more formally correct as image, but the bigger one has more "impact" with the coastline and the sky.
ReplyDeleteI like the larger one. I love to read, but can't do so usually when I have something really scenic in front of me!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view, Jilly... wonderful sea...
ReplyDeleteI wish i was there, reading, too..
She is transported from her time and place into the author's time and place. That's why is remarkable about books.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place! Excellent photo! It would be great to sit there and read:)
ReplyDeleteI like the smaller photo better because it's more focused. I think that "reading" would be a great theme topic.
ReplyDeleteThe bigger one.
ReplyDeleteThe vastness and openess is it for me.
I also prefer the larger photo. It gives us the depth of field that we imagine she's experiencing inside the fictional world of the book.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the larger photo. As she looks out upon the horizon her thoughts return back to her book.
ReplyDeleteWith the larger photo you can see
ReplyDeletethe vastness sky and sea...
and discover the reader hidden ...
:-)
No contest. It's the big one. That's quite a setting for a place to sit and read a novel.
ReplyDeleteI like them both but you're right about the larger photo, it tells the story. Nice post.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, both.
Thanks for the sun and sea Jilly. I'd like your photos even if it were upside down!
ReplyDeleteBoth are great shots, but I liked the smaller, it suggests more intimacy with the act of reading. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Can't choose, love them both! GRAND composition.

Such a beautiful part of the world. Thanks for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteThe smaller is like reading an interesting page of a good book. The large is the satisfaction of finishing the book and knowing the whole.
ReplyDeletenot a bad place to sit down with a book!
