Oh my. A Japanese Beetle. French version. We had them two years ago and they practically denuded Ohio. I squeezed thousands of them between my thumbnail and finger. They squirt brown juice and stains fingers but kills them dead. They are the grubs that eat roots off of lawn grasses. A bejeweled pest of no value. No doubt about it -- a creation of the Devil and almost a biblical plague.
une belle macro de Nathalie (tu as réussi a faire travailler les autres ;o)) )
ReplyDeleteWhile you photo loaded, I was expecting a VW, but this beetle is more modern! Lovely macro.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, crisp image with the sun reflected between the beetles 'shoulder blades'.
ReplyDeleteGood photo of a scary bug!
ReplyDeleteI thought it looked clear enough even before I clicked for the bigger picture and indeed it is a magnificent portrait.
ReplyDeleteI had to "assist" holding the plant still. It was really worth it. A handsome beetle, indeed.
ReplyDeleteNice detail on this one. That bug seems huge!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture!
