A cascade from a plant that appears to be a member of the banana family. I presume this is the fruit and wish I knew its name. There it was, swinging gently in the breeze, at the pretty Square Etats-Unis which is a small public garden surrounded by high buildings and used, in summer, for concerts.
Alien creature from outer space? We need someone who knows this plant...
ReplyDeleteThat's a funny tree !!
ReplyDeleteI think I've seen these trees, though not sure where. Mother Nature playing tricks.
ReplyDeleteJe n'ai jamais rien vu de pareil. Intéressant!
ReplyDeleteDon't expect to get an answer from me! But you can admire without knowing the name, I suppose? :-)
ReplyDeleteWell Great Pitcutre...I Dnt Know What You Call This Plant In English But In India We Call It"Rudraksh Tree".This Is Holy Tree.Great Blog
ReplyDeletePicture association is really powerful; reminds me of a weeping woman.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing, Kate. Niobe came to mind. Though she turned to stone.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like this. It's very unusual and beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteNature can be very dramatic... beautiful and scary at the same time.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a wild kind of jellyfish floating in the sky!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful. It looks like a woman brushing or washing her long hair.
ReplyDeleteI would look closer at the plant. It looks like the flower spike of a palm. I don't think it is open yet so you might drop by in a couple of weeks to see if it opens to a white/yellowish spray of small flowers. The palm family is quite large so I'm not certain which one it might be.
But I would look more at the trunk and check to see if the leaves we see are from a different plant next to it. The leaves do look like a banana but their flowers are very different.
Hello again Jilly,
ReplyDeleteAnother blog of yours that I love, and I'm adding "Menton Daily Photo" also to my “Sparkling Gems of Delight” section on the sidebar (favorite blogs) of SparkleMirror.
Thanks again!
David
Unusual - I thought at first it was some metallic ornament.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual. It could be the seeds.
ReplyDeleteIt looks alien. Very interesting find.
ReplyDeleteUnseen Rajasthan, I looked up the tree you mentioned but the tree itself is quite different - unless as Marta suggests the fruit is coming from another tree (your tree) but it appears to be from a tree with a banana-like leaf.
ReplyDeleteMarta, a very good idea to go back and take a look in a week or so - first to check it really is from a banana-like tree and secondly to see how it has developed. I'll do that! Thanks to both of you so much for suggestions.
What a funny hair cut it would be !
ReplyDeleteImagine.
