The Arabian horses were in Menton recently for the prestigious Mediterranean & Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championship show.
I think this lady loves Arabians, don't you?
The horses have Vaseline put around their eyes and on their muzzles to apparently emphasize their features.
In the smaller photo - taken at dusk - you see where the show is held (the
stade) in relation to the beautiful Old Town of Menton. The horse you see is in the holding ring.
Both photos are really beautiful: the first one is so intense, the second so real and with a wonderful background.
ReplyDeletemagnifique ce tatouage, et puis il est en harmonie avec le cheval
ReplyDeletethis beautiful tattoo, and then it is in harmony with the horse.
I'll bet the horse has a picture of a girl tattooed on its neck!
ReplyDeletethe composition of the 1st photograph is excellent!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I do like that horse. Wow. I love horses almost as much as dogs.
ReplyDeleteHaha. I like Don's comment. Each of these shots tells a different story about horses and Menton. And do I see some of the Fete du Citron in the background?
ReplyDeleteNow, whatever gave you THAT idea, Jilly?

Perhaps it's my wonky sense of humour but I find the subject matter somewhat amusing. The horse is beautiful but I think the lovely back of the woman would be even more beautiful without the tattoo. Great capture.
ReplyDeleteAmazing creatures... I used to own one (well, my wife did!) and ride it in Napa Valley, California. These are magnificent photos as well, Jilly... and love the one with Menton as a backdrop.

You certainly captured the moment with this photo as it says "a thousand words."
ReplyDeleteWhat a great capture! You have such a good eye or spotting these wonderful shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a juxtaposition. Julie and I went to the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show so that she could get some photos for her Daily Photo site. Next time we go, I think I will tell her that she can go ahead and take photos of the horses, and I will go around and ask women to show me their tattoos to photograph.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot Jilly. I guess you're a horse devotee when you sport an equine tattoo on your back.
ReplyDeletewow, you must have been delighted when she went to pet the horse.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great composition! Really, really nice!
ReplyDeleteLove this photo.
ReplyDeleteJe n'aime pas beaucoup les tatouages mais celui-là prouve qu'on peut laisser la dame avec le cheval. Il ne risque rien, elle aime les chevaux. :-)
ReplyDeleteMan you have a good eye Jilly! Perfect shot here.

Love the picture.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago our daughter got us into Arabian horse ownership and showing in the ring. Still have a few.

These photos are very expressive and intense. I like the top photo as it shows the relationship between man and horse. I love horses in all their expressions, especially when they are free and wild. Brava, Jilly!!
ReplyDeleteSuper main photo. Just brilliant!
