Fête Créole - the Créole Mass
Summer in Menton means festivals. Last weekend Tango, now the Fête Créole, which is now a regular in the Menton calendar.
Yesterday morning there was a Créole Mass in the Basilica of Saint-Michel.
Let's spend a few days with a great group of people from Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Haiti, Maurice, Réunion, the Seychelles and Rodrigues.
elle est magnifique, un superbe portrait de cette jeune femme
ReplyDeleteFête Créole. Sounds like fun. I guess we can expect more colourful dresses in the coming days then.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous portrait, Jilly.
ReplyDeleteI like the dress of these folks and their colors and patterns and head gear. All nice.

I love all three of these. That portrait...I could get lost in her eyes. And the group scene, under the carved angel...such an array of people, representing so many places. And the comfortable relationship between the subjects in the last. Can't wait for more.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I adore the women's colorful clothes and lavish beads! That first portrait is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait! There are some cultures that make fantastic use of colours and prints. Your bottom photo indicates that this certainly is one of them! We have pockets of them in the US (particularly in warmer climates), but generally Americans wear pretty boring colours in their wardrobe. Guess that's why I enjoy México so much!
ReplyDeleteA lovely portrait. Look forward to the series.
ReplyDeleteOh, just gorgeous - skin, clothes, pose, jewelry. Americans usually think of Creoles as from Louisiana. We must remember their origins.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful portrait of a beautiful woman
ReplyDeleteLe fete Creole - beautiful, fun, interesting! Wonderful portrait of the lovely woman in the red head scarf!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful portrait! Her eyes speak volumes.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful portrait of the young woman with the necklace. Magnificent! Bravo, Jilly!!
ReplyDeleteOne of the portraits you are so good at.
ReplyDeleteI love the bottom one too!
