Ma ville est Tango - Apero Time

It's summer, it's festival time and this weekend it's Argentinian Tango! Buenos Aires comes to Menton. This festival gets more and more popular each year. The organisers spend a month in Argentina choosing the dancers and teachers who will come to Menton. And people, from all over the world, take their holiday in Menton to learn, to dance in the streets, to watch the experts. There are concerts, spectacles and lessons.

Every evening (apero time) between 5 and 8 p.m. anyone can come and dance at the Place du Cap.

  1. Love that main photo. I can picture the movement of the dance from the expression in his face.

  4. Steffe, here the music is recorded. They play three different types of tango and a guy explains it beforehand. The sounds of the tango in the streets of Menton is just magical.

  6. What fun! And, did you join in the dance? I hope so! Love the monochrome shot; the position of their legs with the woman's high heels make a great photo.

  9. I, too, wondered if you'd taken a turn on the dance floor. In that b&w, I'm not certain whose shoes are more intriguing, his or hers. And in the second shot, what kind of tango step is that woman in the white pants doing? These are terrific, Jilly.

  13. Steve, I think the whole point is that it's very serious and sensuous and he's got other things on his mind!

  15. La première en noir et blanc a un petit côté rétro qui va bien au tango

  16. Brattcat, I believe the woman in white pants is doing a little circle-8 with her knee; rotating first in and then out to culminate in a fan kick out to the right. At any rate, her partner has perfectly positioned his left foot to brace her standing leg.

Lordy, I can't imagine even standing upright in those shoes much less dancing in the streets!
