The Blessing of the Animals - the Priest

Copyright 2009 Menton Daily Photo. All rights reserved

The 'blessing' is usually held in front of the old elm tree but because there were so many horses this year it was held in the centre of the square.

The priest's assistant holds the aspersorium which contains the aspergillum which the priest will use to sprinkle the holy water.

  2. This view is even more lovely than the other: this corner of Gorbio is so timeless (scooters apart).

  3. Great shot, Jilly! We do the blessing of the animals inside our church sanctuary. I guess we'd do it outside if some horses showed up!

  7. I LOVE the blessing of the animals which usually takes place here in October, or perhaps I am mistaken!! I'll have to check it out so we don't miss it this year.

Finally! I think I successfully installed my new modem, have new internet service, and am permanently back online. Hope so!!
