Midsummer in Menton: The Three Hats

A hat just like Mama, but with a baseball cap underneath - and why not?

"Grab your coat, and get your hat,
Leave your worry on the doorstep
Just direct your feet,
To the sunny side of the street."

  1. belle photo, j'aime bien la petite fille avec ces chapeaux, elle doit avoir sacrement chaud. Si ici il pleut, vu le bronzage, il doit faire tres chaud

  4. The daughter's imitation of her mother will hopefully be apply to what is on her mother's head, but not what is in her mother's hand.

  5. Yes, a bit of a troubling shot. The mom's expression is wonderful.

  6. So interesting. I feel such tenderness for the child but not for the mother. The mirror image of their arms makes such an eloquent statement about their relationship. But the child is doing something useful with her hands. The mother is using her hand to hold a cigarette. This is a beautiful photograph, and also a provocative one.

  8. Your caption is perfect; the hats definitely are the focal point.

  9. Look at her tan! She must be a pro to get that look.

  10. I LOVE your candids. They have such life and energy. This is a great photo and while I am totally drawn to the little girl, I am not sure I understand the negativity to the woman who is presumably her mother.

In any event, your work with people is truly inspiring.

  12. WOW! What's shocking to me is the intensity of her tan.
