The Cat I Forgot

Copyright 2009 Menton Daily Photo. All rights reserved.

A boy and his kitten. How proudly and tenderly he holds her. She's called Mimi and is 3 months of age.

They were at the recent Blessing of the Animals in Gorbio - I showed the horses and a dog and forgot the kitten - so this is for the cat lovers out there.

  3. Julie will enjoy your post today. While driving to work Julie rescued a kitten that was about to die in the middle of the road. When she left the garage door open about 6 inches, someone put a kitten and bowl of milk under the door.

Julie took care of both cats for more than 20 years, even though she is allergic to cats. She would wake up each morning with welts on her arm and with difficulty breathing because the cat would sleep next to her.

Later in life one of the cats got diabetes and twice a day I would whistle and she would come waddling in to get her insulin injection. That task, and the cat box, became my chore.

  4. They are both so sweet.
The cats I know will not submit to being held for more than a few seconds.

  5. Who could resist either of those faces? It looks like, particularly with the blessing, these two should be together for many, many years.

  7. Dave, that's such a heartwarming story about Julie and the cats.

And Virginia, of course Einstein is smart - he chose you as his family!

  9. Ah Jilly. Thank you so much. I am looking for a baby sister or brother for the feline Julie (aka Giulia) right now. A lovely shot.

To Dave: please thank the human Julie for her kindness to kitties for us!

    xoxo

  11. Ah, cute! I used to have a cat that looked just like this. She also had a tabby patch on one side and three tabby spots on the other.
