Procession Votive - Anticipation

The streets are narrow and people perch where they can. The only seating is what you see in the last photo. I noticed a few chairs weren't taken and asked the Mayor if they were for dignitaries and he told me, 'No for anyone - make yourself comfortable.' So I sat in one for a few moments but then decided I'd rather be standing and moving about to take photos.
Tomorrow the Procession starts.

Anticipation--your title certainly captures the look of the people.
ReplyDeleteNice archway under the building.
I feel the excitement...and I love the wysteria; my favorite color.
ReplyDeleteThe invitation just to pull up a chair. That is what I love about France. Just lovely sunny colours and patience. I slow down my self viewing this.
ReplyDeleteThe smiles are scarce here. Can you explain why?
ReplyDeleteBrattcat - well everyone is waiting for it to begin. Also it was a VERY hot day. And also it is a very solemn procession, after all, it is the Stations of the Cross. So perhaps the reason is all three?
ReplyDeleteI think I'll visit Menton when this procession isn't happening! I'm not a fancier of crowds. But this crowd is obviously excited about the procession to come.
ReplyDeleteYou have to arrive early to get the chairs!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful arch, stairs and sweet voilet flowers. It's the type of the place which I would like to be.
ReplyDeleteThe air of pepople waiting something pleasant(it's the procession!) is good.
