A metre or so along from yesterday's lady on a bench is this tree - behind it, the sea. Looking at the flower I thought it must be an orchid tree - a Bauhinia - but the leaves are not Bauhinia leaves and the flower is more rigid. Does anyone know what it is?
P.S: Thanks so much to
Semi who left a comment that this is Chorisia Speciosa.
Beautiful pink sun, Jilly, whatever is its real name...His name won't be as beautiful as the flower itself.
ReplyDeleteI can't help with the name but it's a gorgeous shot. Did it have a fragrance? Can't you just imagine it in the hair of the reader from yesterday?
ReplyDeleteNot a clue! But it looks like some kind of lily that has been trimmed with pinking shears!
ReplyDeleteA very interesting spider-like bloom. I wonder what it is.
ReplyDeleteCreo que es Chorisia speciosa
ReplyDeleteSemi, thanks so much. I didn't think of that - just looked and exactly right as you well knew. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteVery strange but pretty flower.
