Progress

At the far end of this narrow street is the pedestrian area of Menton. In recent years several small streets that run off it - like this one - have been tiled over and cars and bikes are banned. Small specialist shops and cafés have opened and now these streets are alive with life.

This is the sort of 'progress' I approve of.

  1. Me, too, except I wish they'd keep more old-fashioned chairs! I would like to see Menton again.

  2. Very nice! Reminds me of a lot of my favorite places, specially Nicosia's old town.

  4. I seem to remember a very kind person drove me near here a year ago, - one street back from the Promenade?

Lovely little alleyways, lined with lovely little shops and cafés, just like so many beautiful towns in the south.

    Gorgeous shot, Jilly.

  5. Well I agree with Bibi about the chairs but i must say those red ones are pretty spiffy! You just joined my table/chairs/rouge series all in one! I want to visit Menton as well !

  6. I am all for this type of progress. (Jilly, Arnaud added another blog, but just about his family. His daughters are adorable.
With 3 girls (not counting the wife), I am not surprised he doesn't have time to post anymore).
