We've walked up the steps that are by the iron cross you see in the background and are on the Esplanade of the Monastery. Tomorrow we'll turn and face the other way and see the Monastery itself.
A wonderful sign for silence (and I had fun googling for the meaning of tenue). We could use such signs in our local monasteries, since my fellow Israelis have no idea what the tenue correcte, i.e. silence, should be.
