Some of you will remember this beautiful 2,000 year old olive tree in Roquebrune village - particularly
the bloggers who climbed it.Here is it used to display a nativity in a bird cage. Hard to see the actual crib as the camera focused on the wire of the cage.
Gasp! This olive tree is spectacular!
ReplyDelete2000 ans.......un joyeux anniversaire....il est magnifique (normal c'est un olivier ;o)) )
ReplyDeleteAh, c'est tres drole, Olivier! Je crois tu est un peu plus jeune!
ReplyDeleteHi Jilly,
ReplyDeletewhere is this olive tree?
Near the parking place where you go upstairs to the "oldtown" of Roquebrune?
Barbara from Germany
Barbara, you walk up to the village - go to the main square - then walk to the church. Turn UP by the church and then take the first right (ie by the blacksmith's forge) and just keep walking until you come to the tree. You'll go through the ancient gateway of the village, past the steps that lead up to the cemetery and than onwards and there it is on the left. You can't miss it. There's a sign there too.
ReplyDeleteYou'll find a map of the village at the Place Deux Freres (ie the main square) and that would help you too.
Thank you Jilly!

Nice to go back and see you all up that tree, Jilly. Thank you for the further information this morning. It is probably a tough time all round.
ReplyDeleteI had not seen this amazing tree before. Wow! That's a subject for an 'essay'.

What a tree! And yet another wonderfully creative setting for the nativity.
ReplyDeleteOh it was fun seeing the happy band of bloggers again. I hope our dear Chuckeroon is improving. I had to laugh as he had not one, but two cameras around his neck that day!
ReplyDeleteLovely old tree and the caged crib is quite creative.
