It's that time of year again...

...the oranges are on the trees. It can surprise a visitor to see the streets of Menton lined with orange trees. And not just the main roads but side streets like the one you see in the smaller photograph.

  4. I just had freshly-squeezed orange juice this morning, but I think those oranges were from Israel. I used to pick up all kinds of citrus fruit in Phoenix when we lived there....people often just let the fruit rot when it fell off their 'decorative' trees.

I would like to sample a French orange...

  5. Lovely coloured oranges in the larger photograph, Jilly. Nice to see the sun out for a few days in a row.

  6. Our oranges are mature here in southern Italy, too. But there are none lining the streets of Molfetta, they are in fields. That's quite special!

  7. Will you have the oranges on floats this year? I remember them in the past.

  9. Now, this is a familiar sight here in Phoenix. You can see full orange trees all over town.

  13. How nice to have them as street trees!
I've only seen two such orange trees on Jerusalem streets.
Are pedestrians allowed to pick an orange if they are really really hungry?
