one of the most beautiful towns on the French Riviera
We've seen this particular scene in the Old Town of Menton before but I do like the way the sun lights up just one side of this little street. We also see the archway we saw the day before yesterday - and the day before that - but this time, photographed from the other side.

This is a charming scene, with the archway, light, lamp, old brick and stone, and the plants on each side of the sidewalk. It is exactly what one would want in a quaint European village or town.
ReplyDeleteI have only had a daytrip to Menton, just before Easter time one year, but this place I remember... :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, and the light really ad something extra.
une petite ruelle sympathique, j'aime la couleur du sud sur les murs
ReplyDeleteSo peaceful, and the colors are lovely. The walkway's been redone, but it fits.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot...love the textures and light!
ReplyDeleteI like the textures in the photo; so many with contrasting colours and shapes. lovely compostion, too.
ReplyDeleteCharming and peaceful. Love the light and the textures of the pavement. This little corner of Menton reminds me of Positano, on the Amalfi coast. Have you ever been there?

I've never been, but thanks to your excellent images, I would know this place in a moment. Beautiful, Jilly.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty scene from all angles.
ReplyDeleteAhhh yes, you captured that glow on the wall just right. Had i been there, we would have been fighting over this one! :)

Once again, sunlight plays hide and seek behind low wall, "traverses", and stairs.....And you played too, Jilly with your camera. Lucky you ! Menton is really a source of inspiration.....Each of your pictures, Jilly reminds me that.
ReplyDeleteOuah, franchement, il n'y a rien de plus beau que le Sud de la France ! Je dis ça et pourtant je ne suis pas chauvine pour un sou :-)
ReplyDeleteA lovely tumble of plantings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scene; I love passages like this. A similar favorite one of mine is in Lugano, Switzerland.
ReplyDeleteIt looks freshly clean / rainwashed, ah.
