The Ruelle
Narrow streets, steps, a tiny bridge joining one old house to another, and of course a mass of wiring - in other words, a ruelle in Roquebrune village. Even a couple of Père Noels get in on the act.
Ruelle - such a pretty word. It translates as alley-way.
I also love the word ruelle.

ReplyDeleteI'm disappointed I did not take the time to look around Roquebrune, I passed it quite a few times whilst riding towards Monaco etc. Next time I'll stop by and look around!
ReplyDeleteWhat an enchanting and whimsical shot. I love the way the eye ascends this little passageway and those jolly red santas gently tugging at our attention as we move past them.

Those ruelles are so cute! for me the provence architecture is the most beautiful, i hope when i´ll build my own house i´ll use this inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me the original architects didn't have high speed internet and cable TV in mind when they built these structures. The wires are a mess, but they add to the photo.
