one of the most beautiful towns on the French Riviera
Sometimes the displays are simple like this tribute to Stanley's Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange.
Of course, the name of the film slots rather nicely into a festival of citrus fruit.

This festival is a huge undertaking apparently, and obviously well worth it because it appears to be wildly popular. This photo makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteWhat do they do with the oranges and lemons that are not rotten at the end of the festival? That's a lot of gaspillage :-)) but it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHI!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo...nice warm colours!
Greetings

Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteThis is such an extensive festival. And to think all I know is lemon meringue pie and limoncello.
ReplyDeleteThe thumbnail of this image made me think of an oasis of color.
ReplyDeleteMarie, any citrus fruit that isn't damaged is sold off at the end of the festival to make jams and also wine and liqueurs.
ReplyDeleteGreat play on words!

Orange mécanique of course!
ReplyDeleteThey just had to do that one!
It's just beautiful. To comment on the post of Marie, if the oranges/lemons are rotten, they will need to throw them away, however, at the end of the Fete, they will be selling to the public to a very reasonable price. It's all good recycling.
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Menton, and I have seen this festival grow, they had so many themes, my favorite one was "Disney". All the different characters of Disney were represented!
Thanks Jill for this great flashback!
