Yes, remember the wonderful Jeanne Calment who lived to be 122 and the oldest woman in the world!
According to Wikipedia: "She ascribed her longevity and relatively youthful appearance for her age to olive oil, which she said she poured on all her food and rubbed onto her skin, as well as a diet of port wine, and nearly one kilo of chocolate eaten every week."
Oh Jilly. I don't know what to say. You're portraiture is so exceptional. I'm in awe. Add the quotes you've chosen......it's parfait mon amie. Bravo. V
"Neuf personnes sur dix aiment le chocolat; la dixième ment." ;o)) Moi je suis accro du chocolat
ReplyDeleteMay she live to the Biblical 120 years.
ReplyDeleteI like that philosophy!
Long live chocolate.
This is an intruiging but very beautiful portrait, Jilly. I love the palette that you have chosen, and yes, your subject did most of the chosing.
ReplyDeleteThe intruige comes from the hair and the hands. Neither appear to be as aged as the visage. She has a very fulsome head of hair.
Beautiful woman --- aged with grace --
ReplyDeleteI think I will start eating more chocolate.
Joanny
Beautiful portrait.
ReplyDeleteA dessert well coordinated with her outfit, that's what I call classy!
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely portrait of yours, Jilly!
This is wonderful, even her attire is in chocolate tones.

Oh...I so hope that is true!
ReplyDeleteMother said you should look at yourself in a full length mirror to see if you are old or young. It works for me.
ReplyDeleteThis lady looks like she started eating chocolate way too late in life. The color matches her and the outfit she wears.
What a marvelous portrait! I would love to get to know her and learn about her life. The brown tones in the photo complement the quote beautifully.
ReplyDeleteA great portrait...
ReplyDeleteGreat!
Cette photo est fabuleuse. Je me demande quel âge a cette dame. Elle est presque de la même couleur que son chocolat.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful older woman. Jilly, you have the eye!

I'm eating lots of chocolate just in case.
ReplyDeletePerfect photo and quote, with which I agree and which is now a source of great comfort to me.
ReplyDeleteLove this one! I'm a huge chocolate fan and can see myself in this very picture, fifty+ years from now.
ReplyDeleteA lady with style! I hope she will continue with enjoying the good things in life!
ReplyDeleteA very nice portrait!
