Time for a smoko - I'll almost sure there's a cigarette hidden inside his left hand!

My grand-father used to hold his cigarettes in this manner. He learned to do that in the trenches when the red light of a burning cigarette made you a perfect target. Hiding it inside your had was a survival gesture.
