Les Poupées

One of the best bric-a-brac markets takes place from time to time near to the Stade at the end of the Sablettes beach. This stall had a display of old dolls - poupées in French.

  2. They have passed through careful hands to remain in that state. I wonder if young girls really played with.

  3. I too wonder who loved them, once-upon-a-time. Lovely photos!

  4. My sister has a doll collection that has overtaken her house. My grandkids think that it's real creepy and don't like to sleep there when we visit. I have just a few dolls I display on a very high cabinet that I keep out of our dogs' reach; seems they like them better than my grandchildren do!

  5. My aunt is a doll collector. I'll send her the link to your blog. When she sees these dolls I think she'll be ready to book her ticket to France.

  6. I remember having a china headed baby doll. I tried to be so careful but I think she might have gotten broken. :(

But I think the dolls have a mad glance, or?

  9. Yes, I had a china headed doll, too. With a rigid body. But she bit the dust in some cowboy shootout when my interests diverged that way aged about 10 ...
