Menton market. I've photographed this stall and the pig before but not with carrots. Don't you love the way the stallholder displays his veggies.

une photo culte ;o)) et j'aime bien ton dicton ;)
ReplyDeleteI see this pig does not travel alone. Unicorns and peacocks are in his entourage.
ReplyDeleteOh I know this pig, I know these carrots! I was there when you took these photos and oh the good laugh we had. It looks like an illustration for a recipe, pork roast with carrots perhaps?
ReplyDeleteJilly did the coast and beach of Menton suffer from the storm yesterday? I saw some pretty spectacular images of wild waves crashing onto the Promenade des Anglais in Nice!

(I wish I knew how to create active links!)
LOVE THIS! And those are HUGE artichokes.
ReplyDeleteNathalie, Yes I saw those pics in Nice-Matin this morning. We've had an unbelievable amount of rain and there is flooding at the bottom of the valley over the sea wall where Menton joins Roquebrune but nothing like as bad as at Nice. Incredile photos of the waves at Nice.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to do live links in comments either...
and a pig is a pig, even if it has a mane of carrots. great post, Jilly. Stay dry.
ReplyDeleteThe pig is firmly tied in case that he would want to see what is life ....:-)
ReplyDeleteNice display indeed.
Jilly, your photos makes my days more cheerfull. This is definitelly one of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks jilly for the update.
ReplyDeleteCatherine, the pig is tied down in case he wants to fly, using the carrots as little wings! (am I flying high myself?)
Heehee, cute. And I love the peacock and unicorn too!
ReplyDeleteA carrot may be a carrot, and a pig may be a pig, but put them together and you have Menton art!!! Very fun pic Jilly...a great one to frame for one's kitchen!!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent quote, and what a funny photo! A grocer with a good sense of humor and esthetics!
ReplyDeleteWhen this photo loaded I just burst out laughing! Wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great display, love the porker. By the way, when you find out what it is, can you let us know.
ReplyDeleteNathalie, I follow you in your flight. I have always tried to take away these links from my legs...like....the pig. No need of carrots in our case, just freedom in our head....Jilly, you fly with us ? I'm sure you join us.
