one of the most beautiful towns on the French Riviera
Recently Menton held a two-day festival of Power Boat Racing. The sun had deserted us but it didn't stop the enthusiasm of contestants as their boats were winched up and then lowered into the sea.

The contrast between the old city and the modern boat design makes for two remarkable images.

ReplyDeleteJilly, it seems that my html has returned to normal. Thank you for your advice.
It looks to be an expensive and powerful boat. And it is probably normal to see such sights in your town.
ReplyDeleteBack in 1989 when I was living in Antibes I went to watch the offshore powerboat races in Monaco. What impressed me the most wasn't the boats but the drivers of the big rigs as they deftly BACKED those trailers through the narrow streets down to the harbor so the boats could be off loaded. Those men had some skills.
ReplyDeleteWow, you came at just the right time.
