  2. Beautiful portrait. I had a duck when I was in third grade. He was an Easter present, and I loved him. He lived a full life.

  7. What child wouldn't be proud of a duckling like that?

Some people give children chicks, especially around Easter, but the families are not prepared to raise a bird. I hope this girl's family is able to take care of the duck as it grows.

  8. Dave, her father bred the ducklings so no problem in caring for it.

  11. The thing I like best about the top photo is the potential in the girl's hands - almost ready to clasp the duck, but her world could change direction.

  12. Vaïmatea? With a name like and her beautiful features I bet she's got something to do with Tahiti or French Polynesia. Perhaps one of her parents or grand-parents is from there?

Please note there's a typo in her name in your post title (Vaïmater). You might want to correct that?
