one of the most beautiful towns on the French Riviera
This lady looks as if she is posing for a photograph, doesn't she? In fact she was in conversation with friends whilst waiting for an exhibition to open at the gardens of La Serre de La Madone.

Beautiful shot Jilly!!! Did you show her afterwards???
ReplyDeleteSplendid. Could have fooled me. I too would like to know if you showed her.
ReplyDeleteTheChieftess and Bibi, No I didn't show her. I don't know her. She was chatting with friends and waiting to go into the exhibition, as was I.
ReplyDeleteThere's a chance I may know someone who knows her and I will ask. She's lovely isn't she? Love that profile!
Yes, the shot is absolutely great, Jilly!
ReplyDeleteun tres beau portrait, avec une superbe lumiere, j'adore
ReplyDeleteJilly
ReplyDeleteThe lovely lady has a most wonderful demeanor or composure to her, looks like someone you would like to know...Natural beauty -- and love the hat.
Joanny
She looks to be a very attentive listener.
ReplyDeleteShe reminds me of a hardwood floor -- for real and tough and not a laminate that is only has good as the photo it is.
ReplyDeleteWithout your explanation, it looks like someone in a very pensive mood. Love her hat, which I'd like to add to my own collection. Hats add so much character to a person, don't you think? Great portrait.
ReplyDeleteAll the comments are so true, but it is the hand, and the light on the hand that moves me the most.
ReplyDeleteBrattcat, right! It was the light that attracted me to the image in the first place and on her hand. I never used to see light and shade - but it's something I've learned and now I look for it all the time - learning learning learning...
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous portrait. I bet she'd love a copy!
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait!
ReplyDeleteAgree with BC, Jilly. But I would I guess ... the light and the arc of the arm and wrist. And also the each of the sleeveless top ... lovely shot.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so much like my mom that I did a double take. She's naturally but intensely focused, very poised.
ReplyDeleteHi Jilly.
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about photography.
But I know something, a photo will be as good as the subject.
In this case the subject, Rodin sister's, is one of the kind.
This would be a kind of picture I would put on the wall at hom, beauty of the picture and beauty of the subject.
