Moving the Beach
This digger is pushing the beach back into the sea. It's exactly where Menton meets Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and is where the river that comes down the Gorbio valley meets the sea.
I don't know whether you should tell this guy, but this job seems the modern-day equivalent of the Myth of Sisyphus....endless. But a fun to see photo....;)
Good question, Julie! I am assuming this is because the river that runs down the Gorbio valley - and is now built over in places - comes out into the sea here and the pebbles were doubtless clogging up the river's exit to the sea.

ReplyDeleteThis is something I have NEVER seen.
ReplyDeleteWe have the opposite problem here.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. My money is on the sea.
ReplyDeleteUmm ... why?
